All courses offered through IECER are named ECED (for Early Childhood Education). 

Most courses are for 3 credits, equivalent to one 3-hour class session per week over a 13-week term (39 hours of instructional time). 

Courses are offered in the following UBC terms:

• Winter 1 (September - December, 13 weeks)
• Winter 2 (January - April, 13 weeks)
• Summer 1 (May - June, 6 weeks)
• Summer 2 (2A, July - 3 weeks; 2B, July-August - 3 weeks)
• Summer Institutes (ECED 380 and 480) are sometimes offered over 1 or 2 weeks.
