About the Program
Certificate programs are comprised of five 3-credit courses (15 credits in total) and can be completed within one academic year.
Diploma programs are comprised of ten 3-credit courses (30 credits in total) and can be completed within two academic years.
Yes. You cannot, however, count a course towards two different certificates.
Can I transfer my certificate credits to a diploma?
All courses counted towards a certificate can also be counted towards a diploma. Note that the maximum length of a diploma program is 5 years. All coursework taken for the diploma, including any courses taken for the certificate, must be completed within the 5 year timeframe.
Can I transfer my certificate and/or diploma credits to a Master's (MEd or MA) degree?
Up to 6 credits from the ECED certificates may be applied to the MA or MEd in Early Childhood Education, providing they are not applied to a diploma. Up to 6 credits taken in a diploma program can be transferred to the MA or MEd in Early Childhood Education, providing they were not applied to the diploma.
