Master of Arts (MA) – On Campus

I’m a last year ECE graduate student in the UBC Master of Arts program, and blessed to live, work, and play on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nation.

Studying at UBC is a dream come true for me, more wonderous than I expected and had heard. From how supportive, knowledgeable, and inspiring the faculty and supervisors are to the magnificent campus and all the utilities supporting students’ learning, mental and physical well-being.

I have been in the field of ECE since 2008 and believe “education is a voyage not a destination” ( Coutler & Wiens, 1999, P.6). I tend to believe that I belong to a world where we are all dwelling together and our actions and decisions influence the entire humanity, therefore we need to be mindful of our commitment to our world. Early childhood is the best age to create an atmosphere of tolerance and respect as well as learning what it means to be a good citizen of the world.

My vision is to celebrate the ecstasy of childhood, this vibrant stage of life, cherish, and inspire the bold spirit of boundless exploration and creativities of childhood and ultimately support and nurture them for they are the beating heart of our world.

My areas of research interest include successful inclusion of children with special educational needs in early childhood settings, as well as their participation, involvement and peer relationships. I am interested in family collaboration of neurodiverse children with diverse cultural background with their learning environment.
