Adjunct Lecturer

Email: allison.mccann@ubc.ca

Allison McCann, EdD, is a researcher and former classroom teacher passionate about translating research into practice to create 21st-century learning environments. Her research centers around leveraging pedagogical documentation, particularly visual data, to inform formative assessment and support educators in making informed educational decisions. Allison’s doctoral research also ignited her passion for educational technology, which led to her work in developing software that reflected her research findings and responded to educator needs. As an educator herself, Dr. McCann is committed to unlearning and learning through continuous dialogue and consistent reflexive and responsive practice. Outside of work, she can be found exploring beautiful B.C. with her family after moving to Vancouver from Toronto in 2018.
