Master of Education (MEd) – Online Cohort
I am an Indigenous educational leader from the Kikino Métis Settlement with nine years of experience in education. My work is grounded in the histories, cultures, and languages of the Métis Settlements of Alberta, and I am passionate about fostering strong foundations in early learning and inclusive education. I currently serve as the Inclusive Education Lead at my local school, where I focus on student and parent advocacy, support the development of Individual Program Plans, and mentor teachers to strengthen inclusive practices.
I hold a Bachelor of Education and a Post-Baccalaureate in Inclusive Education. My professional practice has consistently explored the connection between health and education, leading school-based studies to identify meaningful pathways for student success. I find deep professional fulfillment in ensuring early learners receive the right supports at the right time—a belief that drives my pursuit of further graduate studies in Early Childhood Education.
My experiences at the University of British Columbia have been very positive. I’ve built strong relationships with my cohort members, all of whom share a commitment to inclusive, culturally grounded education. Through continued graduate studies, I aim to expand my impact, build new professional connections, and bring enriched knowledge back to my home community and others.
My current research interests include Indigenous education, early learning, family engagement in inclusive program development, and teacher professional learning in support of early childhood education.
