Master of Education (MEd) – Online Cohort
Hello! Tân’si!
My name is Hannah Delainey, and I live in a small town called Pense, Saskatchewan, located on Treaty 4 territory, which is the original land of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and the homeland of the Métis.
I began my role as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) at Stepping Stones Childcare in Regina in 2012 and worked part-time until 2019. I completed my Bachelor of Education (Pre-K-5) at the University of Regina in 2017. I am on maternity leave but have spent the last seven years teaching pre-kindergarten at King George School in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, indulging in pizza, cuddling with my cat, running, and playing on my Nintendo Switch.
My experience at UBC has been excellent so far. I enjoy connecting with other students and have learned so much in only a few weeks. Everyone at UBC seems welcoming and helpful. I am very excited to be in this program!
I decided to pursue my master’s degree to enhance my knowledge and skills in working with young learners, striving to be the best Early Childhood Educator I can be!
I am deeply passionate about fostering family engagement, responding to children’s interests, promoting inclusive education, and developing positive behaviour strategies tailored to meet the needs of individual students.
