Master of Education (MEd) – On campus
My name is Isioma Olunuga, and I am an international student from Nigeria. Being around children has always brought me immense joy, appreciating their innocence and sweet spirits. My experience at UBC has been both inspiring and challenging. With the support of my teachers, course advisor, and peers, it has become a great and worthwhile journey so far. UBC has provided me with the opportunity to gain wider knowledge and perspectives in the field of early childhood education.
The decision to pursue further education in Early Childhood Education (ECE) stemmed from my first degree in Geography and Early Childhood Education (BEd). Having taught at all levels of education in my home country for thirteen years, with a focus on being a grade 7 and 8 teacher, I developed a fascination for this age group. Their curiosity constantly drives me to explore new teaching methods.
In a quest to be better equipped in dealing with children and inspired by the desire for continuous learning, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in the Early Childhood Education program at UBC. A thorough research led me to this esteemed institution, and I am grateful to be part of a community that fosters learning and growth. I look forward to gaining newer insights and deeper knowledge through interactions with my professors and peers.
