Master of Education (MEd) – Online Cohort, 2017
Current Occupation
Program Coordinator of the Early Childhood Education program, University College of the North, Manitoba
How was your experience with the ECE program?
“I loved the fact that I could get a quality education by distance. I live in Northern Manitoba and to be able to access a UBC program online in my field of study was wonderful. The best part was that I was able to use a leadership camp in Indigenous studies as one of my electives. I had the best of online and face to face learning. Hearing Ovid Mecredi speak in a tipi around a sacred fire was a once in a lifetime experience.”
How did your ECE degree help you in your career?
“Our program now has someone with a post-graduate degree and this has given me more job security and opportunities for other positions in the future.”
What do you love most about the field of early childhood education?
“We are the teachers of the next generation. What we do with children between Infancy and six years old is the most important learning a child will have for their whole life.”
