How was your experience with the ECE program?
“Going to UBC was an excellent match and exactly what I was looking for because they offered courses where I could dive deeper into my interests. It was through different courses at UBC where I was able to supplement the practical skills I’ve developed as an educator with recent evidence-based research for how children develop in primary school and what techniques are useful for laying the groundwork.”
How did your ECE degree help you in your career?
“It was instrumental and influential to help me develop as an educator and equip me with a set of tools, research, and knowledge that I can use on a daily basis.”
What do you love most about the field of early childhood education?
“Kids have access to more information than ever before, but I’ve been noticing that they are lacking the essential life skills of recognizing and managing their emotions, showing empathy, and creating and maintaining positive relationships. With this focus on the critical age of children, you can make a positive difference that impacts their life.”
