Métis Nation British Columbia’s vision for Early Years is for Métis children to experience a state of well-being that allows them to live healthy and happy lives, and to fulfill their full potential as individuals, members of their family, their community, the Métis Nation, and as British Columbians.
The Métis Early Years Program focus is on connecting children aged birth to eight years to their communities, the Nation and Early Years programs and services in British Columbia.
Part of MNBC’s Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) strategy, the program will provide Métis children and families throughout British Columbia with culturally relevant, self-empowering ELCC programs and supports that focus on children and families first to support strong Métis Nation families and communities across the lifespan – beginning at birth.
