Master of Education (MEd) – Online Cohort
A high-quality early childhood environment is essential for fostering the foundational development of young children. As a current Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED) instructor at Bow Valley College, and an early childhood educator with nearly eight years of experience working with young children, I am deeply committed to cultivating attachment-focused environments that honour the diverse sociocultural realities of children and their families.
Having earned a Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare from Bow Valley College and a Bachelor in Child and Youth Care Studies with Distinction in the Early Years from the University of Victoria, I feel privileged to continue my academic journey through the Master of Education in Early Childhood Education at the University of British Columbia. This program has allowed me to deepen my passion for early childhood studies and contribute meaningfully to the field. My experience at UBC has been immensely rewarding, supported by highly qualified professors who have enriched my understanding of research methodologies and theoretical frameworks.
The impact of a high-quality early childhood environment – supported by qualified early childhood educators – cannot be understated. Research consistently affirms that a strong foundation in the early years is critical to children’s lifelong success. Pursuing a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education enables me to remain informed about current developments in the field and to share knowledge with fellow educators, thereby promoting children’s well-being. A robust early childhood curriculum, grounded in professional knowledge and evidence-based practices, and informed by rigorous research, is essential for establishing a strong developmental foundation in the early years.
