September 20, 2024
A quality early childhood environment is critical to develop the foundations of a child. As an Early Childhood Educator with over six years of experience working in diverse early childhood settings, I believe in the value of play-based learning and supporting children’s attachment needs. Having obtained a Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare from Bow Valley College and a Bachelor in Child and Youth Care Studies with Distinction in the Early Years from UVIC, the University of Victoria, I feel privileged to continue my passion in the early childhood studies in the Master of Education in Early Childhood Education with UBC, the University of British Columbia. Supporting the field to strengthen a quality early childhood environment, I believe in empowering children’s voices to be fulfilled in a nurturing child-led early childhood curriculum. My experience at UBC has been incredibly fulfilling with support from highly qualified friendly professors in addition to the heavy assignments that get my mind set with deep research studies to cater to the well-being of young children.
The impact of a high-quality early childhood environment consisting qualified early childhood educators cannot be understated. Research has reinforced the importance of a strong early childhood foundation which sets a child’s success for life. Pursing a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education will enable me to remain informed about the importance of Early Childhood Education while transmitting knowledge to current and future Early Childhood Educators. With a quality early childhood curriculum transmitted from professional knowledge and practices, informative early childhood research methodologies and theories will establish strong foundations of children in their early years.
