Veronica Maclean

Veronica Maclean (or Roni) is an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) and the founder of The School House Early Care & Learning Centre in Nelson BC since 2013. This project emerged from her deep desire to make a difference in the lives of children, families and ECEs in her community.

Veronica works primarily with ECEs in their classrooms, exploring opportunities to transform how educators think about and enact early childhood education and care collaboratively, and in the everyday ordinary moment of our shared spaces. She holds a Child and Youth Care degree from the University of Victoria and a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education at UBC.

Veronica is a mother of four grown-up children and grandmother of three (so far)! She grew up rurally on a small ‘hobby’ farm surrounded by animals and a gaggle of family pets. Over the summer, Veronica along with her partner and faithful four-legged companion, Ruby completed a road trip, logging over 8300 km travelling from the West Kootenays all the way to Dawson City, Yukon.
