Master of Arts (MA) – On campus
I’m in my first year of the MA program in ECED. I am a lifelong learner, always keen to pursue knowledge in the broader field of education. Beyond my studies, I enjoy hitting the ball on the tennis court and swimming. I’m also thrilled to explore the natural beauty here in Canada.
My experience at UBC so far has been a dynamic mix of challenges and excitement. Returning to the academic world after a period in the workforce has been both challenging and exciting. The transition can be daunting, but this is also such an exhilarating adventure! The support I’ve received from my supervisor, professors, instructors, and my wonderful fellow students has been instrumental in my growth, and I’m eagerly learning from these inspiring individuals as I navigate this unique experience. Also, I’d like to take a moment to encourage fellow new students, especially those from different corners of the world like myself, to embrace the journey, take your time, and make every moment count.
I decided to pursue further education in Early Childhood Education because of my love for working with children. When I’m with them, I grow and learn, rediscovering the ‘child’ inside myself, carefree, curious, and creative. I’m continually amazed by children’s ability to accomplish remarkable things. The desire to contribute positively to their growth and development led me to this path.
I’m determined to equip myself with the up-to-date knowledge and best practices in the field and to set a strong foundation for my future career. The decision to attend the MA program in ECED at UBC came as a natural one. UBC’s renowned reputation, beautiful campus, and high academic ranking made it my first choice. I know that being a part of this program will not only help me develop professionally but also enable me to make a lasting impact on the lives of young children.
