Programs

The Faculty of Education at UBC offers a number of undergraduate and graduate programs focused on the early years (for professionals working with children from birth to age 8): pre-service teacher education (BEd), undergraduate certificate and diploma programs, and graduate programs in early childhood education. The Institute for Early Childhood Education and Research (IECER) works in a consultative and cooperative role with the departments offering these programs. These programs include: Kindergarten/Primary specialisation, Certificates and Diplomas, ECE graduate program, as well as professional development (detailed information on our programs is provided through the navigation menu on the left).

Please note that UBC does not provide basic programs leading to certification as an early childhood educator (ECE) for individuals interested in working with infants, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten (birth through age 5).  For more information, please see Prospective Students.
